Calgary Flames have signed Krys Kolanos to a two year two way contract and have called him up. Drafted in 2000, he has mostly bounced around in the minors.

Jean Francois Jacques to waivers.

Jean Francois Jacques has been put on waivers by the Anaheim Ducks. He will be forever known as the as the pick New Jersey sent to Edmonton to draft Zach Parise. The Oilers slid down to the 22nd pick and selected Marc Antoine Puliot, and the other pick on Jacques. He is a tough, gritty player that won't back down from a fight. He has dominated the minor leagues but hasn't been able to ranslate that into his own success.

His contract breaks down into this according to capgeek.com

Length: 1 Year
Expiry Status: UFA
Cap Hit $650,000

Therefore, whoever grabs him will get him at the price of $325,00.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Alexander Radulov of the KHL's Salavat Yulaev Ufa (formerly of the Nashville Predators) slashed his coach Vener Safin right in the face. He is a star in the league as the all time assist leader with 125, but this is just unacceptable. Just wastch and you'll agree.

Names to watch for till the deadline

Just a few names to look around until Trade deadline.

Tuomo Ruutu - Has been named like crazy, I see a 85% chance of him being moved. Jim Rutherford's high asking price is preventing him from being moved.
Teams Interested: Flyers, Blackhawks, Leafs, Bruins, Red Wings, Senators

Bryan Allen - Tom Gleason getting signed has made the price of him even higher than it was. Rutherford's asking price is too much for other teams. ('A' Prospect ex: Nazim Kadri + a 1st Rounder or two 1st Rounders.)
Teams Interested: Flyers, Blackhawks, Wings, Blue Jackets

Marek Zidlicky - He was scratched for three straight games. It's not surprising he's not happy in Minnesota. His high salary cap hit ($4Million for one more year) with a modified NTC (which I don't really see him not waiving unless it's to a place like Toronto where they have a boat load of defenseman already) makes GM not too interested in him.
Teams Interested - ?

Brenden Morrow - Great player for the playoffs. Deserves a Cup Ring. Would be great for a playoff bound team. Lingering neck injury is a cause of worry.
Teams Interested - ?

Hal Gill - Hasn't really been shopped a lot but interest is there. Good, composed shutdown D-Man that could help any team.

Luke Schenn - Hasn't been shopped really but has been named in a lot of Toronto media in trade talks.
Teams Interested - ?

Ben Bishop - Lots of rumors of him and lots of teams interested. Lots of Talent, but expiring contract has teams worried.
Teams Interested - Leafs, Lightning, Devils, Hurricanes, Ducks

Josh Harding - Same as above ^

Evgeni Nabokov - Lots of interest in him but apparently Garth Snow wants at least a 2nd Round Pick in exchange.
Teams Interested: ?

Dominic Moore - Good veteran that teams may want for their third line.
Teams Interested: Penguins

Jeff Carter - Young player, can be good, but horrible contract.
Teams Interested: LA, Habs, NYR, Leafs

Cal O'Reilly Claimed

Cal O' Reilly has been claimed on Re-entry waivers by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was on the Coyotes re-entry waivers. Cal O'Reilly has been dynamic in the AHL, yet he never has been that dynamic in the NHL. Time will tell since the Penguins need the scoring.
